Christmas Tree Pass NV, February 2013

Christmas Tree Pass, near Laughlin.

This pass is an old wagon road that allowed passage from the Colorado river, where Laughlin now is, to the valley beyond, toward where Searchlight now is.

It is an extremely interesting road that is easy to travel in any standard vehicle, but not for RVs.

The variety of flora and rock formations, along with an occasional critter, made this a really fine ride. Actually, we just HAD to drive it 3 different times!

An animal, supine on the rocks?

To me it looks like Snoopy
taking a nap

Is it a cave? A monster?

To me it is either a Muppet face
or the Star Wars Rancor Monster

A balancing boot or easychair?

A skull, me thinks

Well, it IS Christmas Tree Pass!
See the decorations on the left?

The coyote, nose up, howling

A WHALE!

Rodentia ala Christmas Tree Pass

We moved some.
The whale is now a lobstah claw

A rock, alone, in the middle of the desert.

Looks like T-Rex to me!

Yes, Red had a grand time!

On the right.  An owl?
